What I have done to contribute to my identity as a professional counselor

Advocating for Children's Mental Health
In 2023, I obtained my Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) certification, which allows me to help adolescents experiencing mental health challenges.

In 2025, I obtained my Mandated Reporters: Critical Links in Protecting Children in Georgia certification, which allows me to report any known or suspected instances of child abuse or neglect to authorities.
Volunteer
In 2021, I will study abroad in Argentina, where I will help package school books, toys, clothes, and food for less fortunate families.
At least once a year, I volunteer my time to give back to my community by feeding the homeless, participating in a book drive, or packaging and sorting toys for children around Christmas.

Programs Implemented
While in my grad program, I created a psychoeducational support group on helping children/adolescents of addicted parents. I created this group from scratch for a class project. I would love to conduct this group in the future once I'm fully licensed. I also created a support group on helping and supporting individuals addicted to opioids.
